You may be wondering why this website focuses on integrating math and literacy. I can assure you that integrating these two subjects allows students to learn more and in ways they never have before!
Integrating math and literacy is a great way to learn abstract concepts, making them easier to comprehend. Literacy is the foundation of all learning. Students learn best when they can make connections to other subjects and learning areas. As a class, we strengthen students' ideas and math comprehension through writing, reading and discussion. Using books and stories to teach mathematics is fun and motivating. Each student thinks about math and reading a little differently. Therefore, integrating math and literacy is a great strategy to use with students and something I implement daily in class. This website is for you to use with your children at home!
